update: getting up to 4.2Mbps downloads. SIMPLY AWESOME! Compared some other free vpn services tried, I used to be satisfied at getting 200kps max downloads. Much thanks. P.S. again, I will gladly make my donation when I have an online payment option.

Possessing no visa card, and like (hazarding a guess here) 97 percent or more of my fellow compatriots (my peers, and in general the everyday working-class here in PNG are now just getting acquainted with visa cards as banks here started offering visa cards to the public in general in the last few years) , a free vpn was my only option. Discovered DewVPN for Microsoft about 2 months ago and I felt really contented, being more than satisfied at getting a max of 200kbps torrent downloads. Decided to learn about and try out Linux so started tinkering around with a couple distros a few weeks ago, and after being just about ready to give up, I stumble upon RiseupVPN in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS' snap store. AND I'M BLOWN AWAY!!! This good, this fast (BLAZING FAST, up to 1.2 Mbps through my smartphone, which is about ninety percent of the max 4G mobile speed of the speedier of our two telco providers that I am able to get currently), AND ABSOLUTELY FREE! If I may paraphrase from a from one man's note to Dr.Barry Sears for "renewing his life's passport" in the book The Zone , MY GRATITUDE RUNS DEEP INDEED! On that day when I finally have the means to make only payments , I will make my donation with singing and dancing. Until then, please keep RiseupVPN free for those like us from developing nations. Thanks!

This vpn is one of those rare vpns which offer free service without selling user data. So its worth supporting by donations

Does what it says on the tin!

No complaints from me. Works well for downloading torrents and everything else. Surely the lack of a sign-up is a good thing, boosting anonymity.
Cost is by donation. They ask for $60 which is reasonable but as a one off payment. My conscience tells me to contribute once I have the $60 to .
Riseup take security very seriously and are not a commercial enterprise. Their various services are used and trusted by many discrete and antiauthoritarian actors. They are serious and sincere.
I think you need an invite for the email service they offer but not for vpn.
Riseup are well worth supporting.

No complaints, fast vpn with no signup. Probably shouldn't be trusted for this reason either though.

this vpn provider riseup vpn does only offer free services, do your research!
on linux you can simply install it through software then make a starter
by finding the file in /snap/bin/ riseup vpn. launcher
if it shows a green icon it works, and in the browser you will see different
ips than your used to see from your location.

use it with tor browser to completely get anonymous

It’s an open source VPN that I use on my Linux mint 19.1. No cost but they do ask for donations. If you want to you can. They will send a pop up now and then. Let your conscience be your guide.

It's working good on Ubuntu and doesn't require a invite code
